Educator Training Days
16 October 2022At Nurtured at Home we recognise that for some Educators, studying and achieving the Level 4 Certificate in Early Childhood Education may feel a little overwhelming. Therefore, we employ two qualified ECE teachers to provide guidance and support in addition to that facilitated by the provider. By doing this, we can walk alongside our Educators and support them on their journey to achieve their Level 4 qualification and enjoy a positive experience.
We feel privileged to be part of an Educator’s journey to achieve their qualification, and feedback from this support has been overwhelmingly positive. That led us to think about how we can continue to provide professional learning opportunities to not only support Educators working towards their qualification, but to support those who have completed it, and those that already hold a Diploma/Degree qualification.
This year, Nurtured at Home is delighted to introduce professional development days in our main regions. This is available for all of our contracted Educators, and also publicly to other homebased Educators/Nannies as we appreciate professional learning opportunities within a homebased context can be difficult to access. We’ve divided the day into three sessions, with two being facilitated by external providers, and one session being facilitated by our Visiting Teachers.
The first day held in Wellington recently was an overwhelming success, with the team enjoying learning about courageous conversations, environment as the third teacher, and play-based learning. We’re excited to bring this opportunity to our other regions as this was a great way to connect with Educators, learn alongside each other, and have fun!
