Peta

Kia ora, my name is Peta.  I am an experienced Educator, providing care and education for young children in a homebased environment for over 10 years.  My 4 children and 4 grandchildren enjoy spending time at my place, as we are a close and supportive family, and there are many different activities and toys for the children to play with.

I have a large range of indoor and outdoor resources to provide learning experiences for children of all ages.  I attend community playgroups, music groups, and explore the beautiful natural environment that Rotorua has to offer.  I also attend children's community events and arrange time with other Educators so that children can experience social interactions within a larger group.

I am experienced with providing care and education for children with special needs, and interacting with the different supporting agencies.  The wide range of activities and experiences that I provide cater for a wide range of young children and therefore, I have children in care from babies through to school age.

Wendy

I have been a homebased educator for the past 18 years, opening my home up to no more than 4 children at a time. I love providing the care for the children and am very passionate about what I do.   I have been married for 24 years to my hands-on husband Craig and we have 2 adult children. My home is your home and your beautiful babies are our extended family; when your child is in my care they are offered the same love and attention my own children receive, with a nurturing, stimulating and loving environment.

I love the one-on-one I am able to offer to the children and respect that each child learns and grows at different times. I offer a safe and fun environment with an indoor-outdoor flow for your lovely children. Each and every child is given the chance to gain independence and express themselves in a fun environment at their pace.

We spend mornings visiting the wider community attending mainly music, playgroup and also local attractions in Rotorua. Afternoons are for sleep time for those needing it with their own room to sleep in and quiet time for the older children with stories, drawing or quiet play. I know as a parent socialising can be a big thing on your mind, and I feel with attending local events in the community, children learn to socialise in a healthy way, meeting lots of children to play with, and I have had many a child build a lasting friendship through this.

I have a Level 3 Certificate in Early Childhood Education and have done a number of other professional development courses over the years.  I also offer a pickup/drop-off service depending on timing and place.  I really look forward to hearing from you.

Harriet

Hello my name is Harriet. I have developed a strong passion for providing homebased childcare, for children from birth all the way to school, after working in many centre environments. The close relationships that are formed, treasures and nurtures each child individually.

I provide children a variety of learning opportunities, plus trips out to community playgroups, Nurtured at Home playgroups and mainly music. My home is set up with indoor play areas, I have a large range of fun and educational resources and an art area that encourages a love of creativity, developing expressive and creative thinkers who discover their own unique identity and individuality.

My outdoor setting now has a new wooden playground with swings, tower and slide, climbing bars and bridge, sandplay and bikes and nature, along with more art spaces. I am trained and have a First Aid Certificate; my main qualification is a Diploma of Group Care and Education, following which I have done numerous ongoing courses and professional development.

Linda

Kia ora my name is Linda; I have a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and I have been an educator for many years. I am married and have two older boys. We decided to raise our boys here in Rotorua as we get to use the wonderful environment around us. In our spare time we like to go camping, fishing and we're now involved in ministock driving with my younger son. We are an active family who spends lots of quality time together to ensure that our sons have a fulfilling life.

My home is in the Utuhina area handy to town. We have a large outdoor area to play in, with plenty of things to build confidence and gain gross motor skills. We use the Public Library on a regular basis taking out books and toys. I have a sandpit, water play, bikes, climbing equipment and lots of other interesting things to do and explore.

I enjoy getting to know parents and their children and make my home inviting for them to have a sense of belonging.

Tracy

Hello. I am a fully qualified and registered teacher and have been for 26 years. I am passionate about the children and teaching and have worked in centres, although was not happy with the lack of quality one on one teaching. So, I decided to pursue an Educator role instead, which allows more focus for each child, and therefore more chance to grow on a personal level. I have been with Nurtured at Home since June last year and have three wonderful little ones in my care. I had my own little centre in South Africa for 14 years. I have a wealth of knowledge and purposeful learning to offer the children. I follow their interests and have all the resources and materials to help them reach their milestones.

Amelia

Hi my name is Amelia and I have huge passion for teaching children. I strongly believe if we support children in a holistic manner they will thrive, their self-confidence will grow, which in turn gives them an array of skills they can utilise during their transition to school and throughout their lives.

I am a creative, energetic and a very dedicated individual that looks at life with passionate and an enthusiastic attitude. I believe that my role as an in-home Educator is to encourage tamariki to develop their self-understanding, self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-reliance to help them become keen, effective and competent learners.  I believe that if we can aspire for children to reach this, they can enjoy respectful and productive relationships with their peers, teachers, and significant others in life.

At the core of my teaching philosophy is an enthusiasm for exposing our tamariki to experiences and tools that allow them to test their understanding of information, ideas, and concepts, strengthen existing capabilities and encourage new capabilities to emerge. Being a home-based Educator allows me the freedom to be able to extend on children’s learning with these elements.
