Jo (Tauranga)

As a qualified and registered Early Childhood Education (ECE) teacher, with over 20 years of experience working with children, I am passionate about creating a nurturing and engaging home-based care environment where kids can be kids.

My approach combines a balance of both community-based and home-based experiences. Whether we’re out exploring the local parks, reserves, and beaches, or enjoying music and playgroup sessions, or chilling at home with stories, puzzles and messy play, my focus is on the individual needs and interests of the children, fostering curiosity and learning through hands-on experiences.

At home, we are fortunate to have a large backyard with a sandpit, our ‘Plum Corner mud kitchen,’ and a wide range of resources to support play-based learning. I pride myself on providing a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that encourages children to explore, create, and develop their emotional intelligence and social skills. Each day brings new opportunities for discovery and connection!
